Man killed in Little Village shooting: police

A man was shot to death while driving Saturday in Little Village on the Southwest Side.

The 18-year-old was driving south on Washtenaw Avenue at 3:28 a.m. when someone shot at him, according to Chicago police. He was struck in the armpit and crashed the vehicle into a tree in the 2600 block of West 24th Street.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the death.

No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
