Man killed in Lawndale shooting

A man was shot to death Sunday in Lawndale on the West Side.

The 31-year-old was sitting in a van at 12:25 a.m. in the 1500 block of South St. Louis Avenue when someone fired shots, according to Chicago police.

The man, identified as Johnathan Stanton, was hit in the head, neck and chest and was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He lived in Chatham.

No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
