Sun-Times file photo

A man was fatally gunned down Thursday in Lawndale on the Southwest Side, according to police.

Officers responded to a call of gunfire about 8:40 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Albany and found the man lying facedown, Chicago police said.

The 22-year-old had multiple gunshots in his head, neck and upper body, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the fatality.

Police said there are currently no witnesses to the shooting. Area Central detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
