A 41-year-old man was killed by two gunmen Tuesday morning as he approached a car in Lawndale on the West Side, according to police.

He was standing on a sidewalk about 8:10 a.m. in the 2700 block of West Harrison Street when a gray car pulled up and he walked toward it, Chicago police said.

That’s when two people inside the car shot him in the chest before driving away, police said. The 41-year-old was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on the death.

No arrest has been made, police said.

The shooting happened just two blocks away from a separate shooting Monday morning that wounded a 19-year-old man. He was inside a business in the 2900 block of West Harrison Street when someone fired shots from a vehicle outside, police said. The man was struck in the arm and wrist, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.
