A man was killed in a hit-and-run Monday while riding a bicycle in Lawndale on the West Side.

The 72-year-old man was riding the bike about 2:21 a.m. when he was hit by a white sedan in the 1500 block of South Central Park Avenue, according to Chicago police. The car drove off after hitting him.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the death.

Officers in the area stopped a white car with front-end damage that matched the description of the vehicle that hit him, police said. One person of interest is being questioned by detectives.
