He was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital.

A man was fatally wounded by gunfire Wednesday in Lawndale on the Southwest Side, according to police.

The 30-year-old was standing on a sidewalk about 6:20 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Karlov Avenue when someone opened fire from a white-colored SUV, Chicago police said.

The man was hit in the chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the death.
