Man killed in Lawndale drive-by

A 29-year-old man was shot and killed Friday in Lawndale on the West Side.

He was walking on the sidewalk about 12:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Kenneth Avenue when someone in a blue Dodge pick-up truck fired shots, Chicago police said.

The man was hit in the head and chest, police said. He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details about his death.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
