Man killed in Joliet motorcycle crash

Austin Hoard was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood after he was injured in a motorcycle crash.

Austin Hoard was involved in the crash on May 24 in the 3300 block of Hennepin Drive in the southwest suburb.

A man was killed last week in a crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle in southwest suburban Joliet.

Austin Hoard, 22, was involved in the crash about 9 p.m. on May 24 in the 3300 block of Hennepin Drive, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he died at 10 p.m. the next day, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy released Tuesday found Hoard died of multiple injuries from a motorcycle striking a vehicle. He lived five blocks away from the site of the crash.

Joliet police have not replied to multiple requests for additional details.

Hoard was a reservist with the U.S. Army and a mechanic in Downers Grove, according to an obituary by Fred C. Dames funeral home.
