
A man was killed in a drive-by Tuesday in Heart of Chicago on the Southwest Side.
The 36-year-old was walking on the sidewalk about 10:44 a.m. in the 2200 block of South Leavitt Street when someone fired shots from a passing vehicle, Chicago police said.
The man was struck multiple times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Police said the suspect shooter was in a red two-door vehicle.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the fatality, but had not yet identified the man Tuesday evening.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
