A man was fatally shot Friday in Gresham on the South Side.
He was on the sidewalk about 7:30 p.m. in the 600 block of West 80th Street when someone approached him and opened fire, striking him in the head and neck, Chicago police said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He has not been identified.
Area Two detective are investigating.
