A 23-year-old man died Saturday after he was shot multiple times in Gresham on the South Side, police said.
He was sitting in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle with his friends about 2:34 a.m. in the 8300 block of South Peoria Street, Chicago police said. As his friends left the car, another vehicle pulled alongside, and an occupant unleashed gunfire.
The man was struck multiple times in the head and body, police said. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not identified the man, but in an autopsy conducted Sunday said that he died of multiple gunshot wounds. His death was ruled a homicide.
No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
