A 49-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday night in Greater Grand Crossing on the South Side.

The man, 49, was talking to someone in a parked car in the 7700 block of South Normal Avenue when a person inside fired shots about 10:25 p.m., Chicago police said.

He was struck multiple times and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Robert Fartheree.
