Man killed in Gary shooting

A man died Sunday after he was shot in northwest Indiana.

Arnell Lackey, 25, suffered a gunshot wound in the 3500 block of Polk Street in Gary, according to a statement from the Lake County coroner’s office.

Lackey, who lived in Gary, was pronounced dead at 4:15 p.m., the coroner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.

The case remains under investigation by Gary police and the Lake County/Gary Metro Homicide Unit.
