Sun-Times file photo

A 21-year-old man was shot dead Friday in Fernwood on the Far South Side, according to police.

He was inside a vehicle in the 200 block of West 105th Place when a silver-colored vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots, Chicago police said.

He was shot multiple times in the body at 7:20 p.m. and took himself to Roseland Community Hospital, where he later died, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the death.

The shooter’s vehicle was last seen driving northbound on Wentworth Avenue from 105th Place, police said.

Area South detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
