Man shot and killed outside Far South Side home after brick thrown through window

A man was shot and killed in front of his home in West Pullman on the Far South Side after someone threw a brick through his window.

The man, 35, was shot around 10:50 p.m. in the 12100 block of South LaSalle Street when he went outside to investigate Chicago police said.

He was hit in the chest several times and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead, police said. He was identified as Jerome Jenkins by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

No one was in custody.
