A man was killed in a shooting Friday in Englewood on the South Side, according to police.

Just after midnight, officers found 38-year-old Keven Devon Jones with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso in the 5800 block of South Lafayette Avenue, Chicago police and the Cook County Medical examiner’s office said.

He was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

An autopsy conducted later that day confirmed he died of his gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office said. His death has been ruled a homicide.

The circumstances of the shooting are unknown at this time, authorities said. No arrests have been reported as Area Central detectives investigate.
