Man killed in Englewood shooting

A man was fatally shot July 3, 2020, in Englewood. | Sun-Times file photo

A 28-year-old man was killed after he was shot in the head Friday in Englewood on the South Side.

He was sitting on a porch about 1:30 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Elizabeth Street when someone approached him and opened fire, Chicago police said.

The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details about his death.

No one is in custody as Area One detective investigate.
