A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday on the Eisenhower Expressway on the Near West Side.
A 2007 white Infiniti and a 2015 blue Mitsubishi were eastbound about 12:55 p.m. on Interstate 290 near Paulina Street when the Infiniti struck the back of the Mitsubishi, Illinois State Police said.
The driver of the Infiniti, a 19-year-old man, lost control of the car and drove up an embankment before striking a tree, state police said. Another man riding in the car, also 19, died of multiple injuries from the crash.
Autopsy results released Wednesday ruled his death an accident, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His name has not been released.
The 18-year-old woman driving the Mitsubishi was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, state police said.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
