Man dies after crashing into light pole in Brainerd

A man was killed when he crashed his car into a light police in Brainerd on the South Side Wednesday morning.

The 54-year-old man was driving south on Halsted Street when he lost control in the 9400 block and struck a light pole, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said. He has not yet been identified.

Area 2 detectives were investigating.
