Man killed in Cragin drive-by: police

A 46-year-old man was killed Friday in a drive-by in Cragin on the North Side.

About 8:05 p.m., the man was driving a truck northbound in the 5100 block of West Belmont Avenue when someone inside a black SUV fired shots at him, Chicago police said.

He was rushed to Community First Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the chest but was later pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not yet confirmed the man’s death.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate the shooting.
