The victim of a fatal crash where a jeep hit a ditch yesterday afternoon in Cork has been named locally.
Cornelius O'Donovan, 46, was killed instantly when his vehicle crashed on the N72 at Lombardstown, near Mallow, Co Cork, at around 3.30pm on Tuesday afternoon.
Mr O'Donovan was travelling by himself when his jeep left the road and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The road was closed while Forensic Collision Investigators technically examined the scene.
O’Donovan, originally from Newmarket in the Munster county, was taken to CUH for a postmortem examination.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone with information on the crash to contact them.
