Man killed in Christmas Day crash on the A465

A man died in a crash on Christmas Day involving two cars and a pedestrian.

South Wales Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to the crash at around 5pm on December 25.

The collision occurred on the A465 junction between Neath Abbey and Tonna junctions.

A black coloured Toyota Aygo collided with a red coloured VW Beetle and a male pedestrian.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said that despite the efforts of the emergency services a 48-year old man was declared deceased at scene.

He said: " At present the road remains closed for investigation work to be carried out and South Wales Police would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding during this time.

" South Wales Police would like to speak with any witnesses to the collision, any person who may have dash cam footage of the incident or anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of the Toyota Aygo prior to the collision.

"Please could witnesses contact South Wales Police on 101 quoting occurrence 1900472034."
