A man died in a car crash this morning.
The driver, a man in his 40s, was killed in a collision on the N76 in Killamery, Callan, Co Kilkenny.
The crash happened shortly after 11am and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to Waterford Regional Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The local coroner has been notified.
The road is currently closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.
Gardai are appealing for anyone with information, particularly any road users who were travelling in the Callan area between 10.30am and 11.30am and who may have dash cam footage, to come forward.
