A man was killed in a double shooting Saturday in Bronzeville on the South Side.

Two men were in the 500 block of East 40th Street about 8:44 p.m. when a vehicle approached them and someone inside fired shots, Chicago police said.

The men, 39 and 43, were struck multiple times and took themselves to hospitals for treatment, police said.

The 39-year-old, Terrell Hudson of Palos Hills, was transferred from Provident Hospital to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:29 a.m. on Sunday, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He had gunshots to his neck, chest and back, police said.

The older man was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center with gunshots to the arm, police said. His condition had stabilized.

An autopsy released Monday found Hudson died of multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.

No arrests have been reported, police said.

Hudson was one of five people killed by gun violence over the weekend in Chicago. At least 43 other people were wounded in shootings throughout the city.
