A man was fatally shot while sitting in a vehicle Friday in Austin on the West Side.
Ronnie Howard, 57, was in the vehicle about 7 p.m. in the 5200 block of West Crystal Street when he heard shots and felt pain, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
He was hit in the shoulder and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later, authorities said. He lived in Austin.
No arrests have been reported. Area North detectives are investigating.
