A suspected was arrested after a man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting Wednesday in Lawndale on the West side.
The men, 29 and 36 years old, were standing on the front porch of a residence about 4 p.m. in the 1900 block of South Trumbull Avenue when a white-colored SUV pulled up and someone inside fired shots, Chicago police said.
The younger man was hit in the torso, and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His identity has not been released by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
A bullet grazed the older man on the calf, and he declined medical attention, police said.
Officers spotted an SUV matching the description of the shooter’s vehicle, but it drove off and led police on a pursuit that ended in west suburban Oak Park, police said.
One person got out and ran from the vehicle, but was caught by officers and taken into custody, police said.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
