Man killed, another hurt in Austin shooting

A man was killed and another was critically wounded in a shooting Friday in Austin on the West Side.

The men were found shot at 12:56 a.m. inside a parked vehicle in the 100 block of North Lorel Avenue, according to Chicago police.

One of them was hit in the neck and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details on the fatality.

The other man, 19, was shot in the neck, back, shoulder and arm, police said. He was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.

No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
