One man was shot to death and another was critically wounded Monday in East Garfield Park on the West Side.

The men, 21 and 25, were standing on the sidewalk at 1:29 p.m. when they were shot in the 3900 block of West Lake Street, according to Chicago police.

The older man was shot multiple times and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the fatality.

The 21-year-old was also shot multiple times and taken to Stroger in critical condition, police said.

Police said witnesses at the scene were uncooperative with investigators and did not provide a suspect description. No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
