Man kicked in head and knocked out in city centre takeaway

Merseyside Police has issued CCTV images of two men they'd like to speak to after a violent attack in Liverpool city centre.

The assault, which took place at around 2.30am, on Saturday, August 21, left the victim in hospital for a number of days.

The force says the victim was punched to the floor and then kicked in the head at a takeaway on Leece Street.

As a result, the man was knocked unconscious and left with a fractured jaw.

He was treated in hospital for several days after the incident.

CCTV and witness enquiries have been carried out near the restaurant and detectives have issued CCTV images of two men they believe could assist with their investigation.

Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: "This was a violent attack which left a man with a serious injury and his recovery could take several months.

"We have carried out a number of CCTV and witness enquiries and are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the men pictured.

"If you were on Leece Street at the time of the assault and may have witnessed this incident or have any information about it, we would also like to hear from you."
