Man jailed over football disorder at Bristol City vs Swansea City match

A man has been jailed for anti-social behaviour and violence at Bristol City's match against Swansea City last month.

Ryan Greenslade from Brislington admitted causing fear or provocation of violence when he appeared before Bristol Magistrates.

The 26-year-old was sentenced yesterday (March 21) to 12 weeks in prison and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.

The court also imposed a football banning order which means he will be prevented from attending all Football Association matches at home and abroad for six years following his release.

Mr Greenslade was arrested in the early stages of an ongoing investigation into football-related anti-social behaviour and violence which happened on February 2.

A second man is due to be sentenced for the same offence at a future date and a third will appear in court next week.

DI David Lewis from Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "This positive result demonstrates our commitment to dealing robustly with those involved in football-related disorder.

"We're continuing to work through CCTV footage to identify suspects, in collaboration with Bristol City FC, Ashton Gate Stadium and Swansea City FC, as well as British Transport Police and South Wales Police colleagues."
