A man who was caught in prison with Kinder Surprise Eggs containing drugs has been jailed.
Patrick Morgan, 33, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to possession of cannabis and heroin for sale or supply in Mountjoy Prison on April 6, 2016.
On Tuesday, Garda Daniel Keaney told prosecutor Fiona McGowan that on that date the accused was under the influence of an intoxicant and searched.
The eggs, “stored internally”, were then found.
Judge Martin Nolan sentenced Morgan, of Kilbarron Avenue, Kilmore, Dublin, to four months to run consecutively to the five-year term he is currently serving for dangerous driving.
