A MAN has been jailed for the attempted murder of a baby in Aberdeen

Stuart Flood, from Elgin, Moray, was sentenced to seven years in prison after he was convicted following a trial at the High Court in Dundee

The 28-year-old committed the offence over a three-month period in Aberdeen in 2021.

Detective Inspector Andrew Sharp, of Aberdeen’s Public Protection Unit said: “This was a senseless, sustained attack on a defenceless child resulting in serious injury, for which there is no justification.

“I would like to thank all the officers and partners across all agencies involved in this investigation who helped to secure the conviction and sentence.”
