Man jailed for brutal attacks on two men shouts 'f*** the Crown' as he is led to cells

A thug who brutally attacked two men reacted angrily after he was jailed for eight and a half years today.

Scott Ritchie pounced on William Hamilton at a house in Maryhill, Glasgow in January this year.

The victim's sight was left badly affected as a result of the ordeal.

Ritchie earlier attacked Gregor Edwards in Erskine, Renfrewshire in July last year.

The 26-year-old was today sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow.

He had earlier been convicted of assaulting and robbing Mr Hamilton to his severe injury as well as permanent disfigurement and impairment.

Ritchie was also found guilty of attacking Mr Edwards to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

Prosecutors said the men had been struck with a bottle or knife.

Judge Graeme Buchanan jailed Ritchie and also ordered he be supervised for a further two years on his release.

As he was led to the cells, the thug yelled: “F*** the Crown. P***k.”

There is believed to have been family of at least one victim in court.

Ritchie also shouted towards them: “Your boys face will be worse next week.”

Co-accused Ryan Giilmour (27) had also been accused of attacking Mr Edwards.

But, he instead pled guilty to assaulting Jordan Hughes on the same day in Erskine to his permanent disfigurement.

Judge Buchanan jailed him for six years and ordered he also be supervised for two years when he is freed.
