A Perth man who had tradespeople visit his home when he was meant to be quarantining has been sentenced to seven months in jail for breaching COVID rules.
The 53-year-old arrived at Perth Airport from Brisbane on June 27 and was told to self-isolate for 14 days due to a COVID outbreak in Queensland.
He chose to quarantine at his home in the beachside suburb of Scarborough.
Under the rules, he was not allowed to have visitors, but WA Police say he had tradespeople conduct work at his property.
He also had members of the public come to his house to buy items he listed online for sale.
A complaint was made to police after the man told one of his visitors he was self- quarantining.
He pleaded guilty to 15 charges of failing to comply with a direction.
He was sentenced to seven months in prison, with two months to be served immediately and five months of the sentence suspended.
