Man jailed for 11 months after abusing ex-girlfriend at her Blantyre home

A former Blantyre man who verbally abused his ex-girlfriend has been jailed for 11 months.

Anthony Lowell (29) of Coldstream Crescent, Coltness, was also given a two-year non-harassment order when he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week.

Lowell admitted going to Victoria McMillan’s home in Comrie Crescent, Blantyre, in the early hours in December 2017, banging repeatedly on the door, shouting abuse and refusing to leave.

He also admitted shouting a threat to her at Hamilton bus station while on bail on March 19 this year.

Lowell, formerly of Camelon Crescent, Blantyre, further admitted shouting abuse and struggling with police officers in Main Street, Blantyre, in February last year and breaching bail by contacting Nicola Weir and Rebecca Lowell in Belhaven Road, Hamilton, in May 2018.
