Man jailed following burglary at Bolton hotel - he was caught wearing a coat that had been stolen

A man has been jailed following a burglary at a hotel in Bromley Cross

John Sokolowski has been sentenced to three months imprisonment following an incident at the hotel on Hospital Road on August 24.

A hotel staff member reported their coat and car keys had been stolen from an office within the building.

Officers noted that Sokolowski had been stopped by police wearing the coat that had been stolen.

The 32-year-old, of no fixed abode, had also been staying at the hotel prior to the burglary.

On August 26, Sokolowski was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He was later charged and remanded in police custody overnight to appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court on August 27.

At court, Sokolowski pleaded guilty to burglary other than a dwelling.
