A dad was stunned to find his daughter's ex-boyfriend curled up naked in her wardrobe - despite an order being in place banning him from going anywhere near her.
Worried that he had been unable to contact his daughter, the dad went to his daughter's sheltered accommodation on December 29.
There he found 21-year-old Richard Bradshaw, from Middlesbrough, in the wardrobe.
Bradshaw has now been jailed for breaching a domestic violence protection order.
The Teesside man had only been slapped with the order on December 7 and he only had to endure it for the 28 days it was to be in place.
But York Magistrates' Court heard how Bradshaw repeatedly breached the order, handed to him by North Yorkshire Police, by sending his ex messages saying that he needed to see her.
The next day, her father went to the sheltered accommodation where she lives. He then found Bradshaw in the wardrobe.
Bradshaw admitted breaching the domestic violence protection order.
Magistrates sentenced him to eight weeks in prison - the maximum sanction available to them, reports Teesside Live.
A domestic violence protection order is a civil court order which enables the courts to act quickly to protect people police believe to be in immediate danger of domestic violence.
It can only last for up to 28 days.
Breaching a DVPO is not a criminal offence but can be punished by imprisonment of up to eight weeks.
