Man jailed after behaving in a threatening manner in Wishaw and Motherwell

A man has been jailed after behaving in a threatening manner.

Fifty-year-old Scott Hughes stood in the dock at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week and pleaded guilty to repeatedly shouting, swearing, adopting an aggressive demeanour and making threats of violence towards police officers.

The offence took place on November 19 at a property in Stewarton Street and at Motherwell Police Office.

Hughes, of no fixed address, was sentenced to four months behind bars by Sheriff Vincent Smith.
