Man is 'critically ill' after falling from a bridge on the A610

Police said a man remains 'critically ill' after falling from a bridge on the A610 at Giltbrook.

Officers closed off part of the A610 at 4.25pm on Sunday, October 6.

The air ambulance and East Midlands Ambulance Service were also at the scene.

The A610 westbound was closed as a result between A6096 Gin Close Way (Ikea Island, Giltbrook) and A608 New Derby Road (Langley Mill).

At the time, police closed the carriageway at the junctions with the A6096 and the A608 and drivers were advised to avoid the area.

It reopened later in the evening.
