Man involved in horror crash in Tameside earlier this month dies

A man has died following a horror crash in Tameside earlier this month.

There was a huge emergency response to the smash on Matley Road, Hyde, on Monday, May 4.

A 47-year-old man was taken to hospital having suffered with 'multiple injuries', police said.

Greater Manchester Police have now confirmed the man died last Thursday (May 14).

His next of kin has been informed.

An eight-year-old girl was taken to hospital having suffered chest and head injuries.

Police have not released an update on her condition.

A woman was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

No arrests have been made.

Floral tributes and a Manchester City shirt have appeared at the crash scene.

Candles, cards and signs have also been placed around a tree.

An air ambulance, fire crews and police weres crambled to the scene following the crash.

Matley Lane was closed for several hours while police carried out an investigation.

Enquiries continue.
