Man injured in terrifying hit-and-run near school in Co Meath

A man was injured in a hit-and-run near a school in Co Meath.

The incident happened in Rathcairn on Monday evening between 8.30pm and 9pm.

A man was walking home in the direction of Rathcairn village close to traffic control signs near a local secondary school.

He was then struck from behind by a white van, and sustained an injury to his arm.

The vehicle, which was travelling in the same direction, failed to stop.

Officers are now asking anyone with further information to come forward.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardai are looking any possible witnesses, or information that may assist this investigation.

"Please call the garda Station on 046-9240999 if you can help."
