Man injured in serious two-vehicle crash on Musselburgh Road in Dalkeith

A man has been taken to hospital following a serious accident on a road in Midlothian.

Emergency services ere called to a two-vehicle collision on Musselburgh Road in Dalkeith just after 10.30am on Thursday.

Locals have reported seeing one wrecked vehicle with a missing wheel and deployed airbags.

Paramedics were called out to treat the casualty but the extent of his injuries is not yet known.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said:  "We were called at 10.35am to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Musselburgh Road, Dalkeith. The Scottish Ambulance Service and the fire service were in attendance.

"One man was taken to to hospital."

The A6094 has been closed for several hours, causing delays to traffic in and around Dalkeith.

East Coast Buses said: "Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Musselburgh Road part of High Street and are instead diverted via Salters Road and Lauder Road in both directions until further notice."
