Man injured in 'serious' road crash between truck and electric scooter

A man has been injured in a "serious" collision between a large truck and a man on an electric scooter.

The crash resulted in the N81 in Tallaght being shut down earlier this morning. It is not known what the extent of the injuries sustained were in the accident.

The crash occurred near the Jobstown House on the N81 around 6:15 this morning. Dublin Fire Brigade said the road was shut down due to the crash just after 9am this morning.

They tweeted: "The N81 is closed near the Jobstown House following a HGV road traffic collision this morning". A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardai are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision on the N81 in Tallaght, Dublin 24. The collision occurred at approximately 6.15am when a truck collided with a male who was travelling on an electronic scooter.

"The N81 in Tallaght is currently closed and local diversions are in place. No further information is available at this time." Dublin Live will keep you updated with all the latest on the crash at this Live Blog.
