A 31-year-old man was taken to hospital after an apparent stabbing in Rutherglen last night (Monday).
His condition is unknown following the assault which happened outside Mill Court just after 7 pm.
Police rushed to the scene after they received a report of an assault.
Local residents reported that the victim had been stabbed.
Last night, an underpass was sealed off by officers as they began their investigation into theattack.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 7.10 pm on Monday, September 30, 2019, police were called to a report of a 31-year-old man assaulted outside Mill Court in Rutherglen.
"Officers attended and the injured man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
"Anyone with information that may assist the ongoing investigation should contact detectives at Cambuslang through 101 quoting reference number 3646 of 30th September."
