Two men have been arrested after a man was followed and then stabbed in a late night attack in Melbourne's CBD.
An Ardeer man, 35, was stabbed on Lonsdale Street near Queen Street about 12.30am on Friday, with a number of bystanders coming to his aid before paramedics arrived.
Victoria Police said a Soutbank man, 52, and a Melbourne man, 22, were arrested at their homes about 1:30pm on Friday.
The pair are assisting detectives with their inquiries.
Police believed the victim was followed by two men before he was attacked, with the men last seen walking away from the scene.
The victim remains in hospital with serious injuries.
