Man injured in horror sledging accident on Arthur's Seat as mercy crews race to scene

A man has been injured in a horror sledging accident on Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh.

Emergency services were called to the beauty spot at noon on Saturday afternoon after the alarm was raised by a park rangers.

Paramedics attended to a man in his 30s who was injured after he struck a rock whilst sledging.

An initial request was made for an air ambulance before a rescue op was launched using a Polaris rapid response vehicle.

Mercy crews faced difficult weather conditions after heavy snow fall in the area.

Locals have flocked to the slopes of the landmark as more snow is predicted to fall overnight.

The man's condition is unknown.


The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.


Police Scotland said they were unaware of the incident.
