Man injured and road closed after quad bike crashes into parked van

A man was injured after a quad bike crashed into a parked van.

Police and paramedics were called to Sturminster Road, in Stockwood, at around 9:15pm on Saturday (August 15).

A man in his 20s was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital.

The road was shut for around five hours while emergency crews dealt with the collision.

Avon and Somerset Police has now launched an investigation, and officers are appealing for witnesses.

A force spokesperson said: "We were called shortly before 9.15pm last night (Saturday 15 August) to reports of a collision involving a quad bike and van parked in Sturminster Road, in Bristol.

"CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed as part of our ongoing enquiries.

"Anyone who saw what happened, or has dashcam footage of the incident, is asked to report it online or call 101 and give reference number 5220184829."

The force's road safety team shared a photograph of last night's police cordon.

They tweeted: "We’ve been on scene at a serious RTC in Bristol.

" Road closures have been in place but now lifted.

"NOK are aware of the incident and an investigation is taking place."
