Man injured after falling off cherry picker lift in work accident in Kilkenny

Gardai and Emergency services rushed to the scene of a work accident this evening after a man fell off a cherry picker lift.

The incident happened at around 7 pm on High Street, Co. Kilkenny.

The man who's age is unknown fell from the lift before gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene before closing off the street to help him.

Thankfully his injuries were not life threatening however he was taken to St Luke's Hospital where he was treated following the incident.

The Health and Safety Authority has been notified and will carry out their own investigation into the incident.

A Garda spokeswoman said: "There was a work place accident on High Street, Kilkenny this evening Thursday 3 rd December, 2020 at approximately 7p.m.

"One man was injured when he fell from a cherry picker – non-life threatening injuries but attended St. Luke’s hospital with his injuries.

"The road was closed for a short time and is due to reopen shortly and the H.S.A have been notified and they will conduct their own investigation."
