Man injured after falling from harbour into sea in Montrose

A man has been rescued after falling from the harbour at Montrose .

He was pulled from the sea but had suffered injuries, Aberdeen Coastguard said tonight.

The alarm was raised at 7.20pm.

Montrose lifeboat, Coastguard and ambulances were on the scene.

It is thought the man fell from a vessel docked in the harbour.

Three arrested after large scale disturbance near Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow  

A Royal Navy Rescue helicopter was also scrambled from Prestwick.

The man was being treated at the scene but will be taken to hospital in the helicopter. 

An HM Coastguard spokesman said: "He is being treated on the scene, but we have a helicopter from Prestwick en route to transfer the casualty to hospital.

“We’ve got Montrose lifeboat on scene, Montrose Coastguard Rescue Team on scene and also ambulance, paramedics.”
