Man injured after car drives at group of parents outside North Dublin school

A man was rushed to hospital after allegedly being dragged by a car during an early morning assault outside a school in North Dublin.

Gardai are investigating after a car drove into a group of people outside on School Road in Finglas around 9.40am on Monday morning.

A number of people from the Indian community had been gathered outside Mother of Divine Grace dropping their kids to school.

According to RTE the car went onto a footpath, hitting a group, before dragging the man.

He was taken to The Mater Hospital with minor injuries.

One person who was there claimed a number of people in the vehicle shouted racist abuse.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating an incident of assault at School Road, Finglas, Dublin 11, on 18th November 2019 at approximately 9.40am.

"A man in his 40s was taken to Mater Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing."
